It is now 4.07 pm and I have officially not slept for 24 hours.

Yup!

I came home at this time yesterday,

did my work till 8.30am straight,

Got ready by 9.10am,

Reached the bus but these bloody Leeds bus drivers will never wait for you.

He was supposed to leave only at quarter past, but I was there at 9.11am...

Shithead.

So I had to walk 15 minutes in the cold to the bus station.

(Btw, the picture above...That's a bridge I pass when I walk home to and from the bus station... Beautiful huh?)

A trip to the Royal Armouries and a Wonderful Lunch

During the last weekend, my friends and I payed a visit to the Royal Armouries Museum which is just 4 minutes walk away form where I live. As a matter of fact, I can actually see it right from my window.

The museum displayed a vast variety of war equipments and gears and weapons which were used by all the empires - from the Persians to the Chinese - and from the early wartimes up until today's police authority gears and gadgets. They even had a whole gallery of weapons, gears and outfits worn by the actors in Narnia, Hellboy and some other action packed movies with all the metal gears and such. It was simply too cool!!

Surprisingly, I was actually pretty fascinated with the exhibition. I didn't realise that there was a whole lot of detail put in the armours that they wore. They're not just plain steel. Looking at the armour designs, I realised the creators must have put a lot of thought into building a piece of armour.

I managed to take snapshots of a few interesting things:

Look at this pokey-pokey one. Kena him sure pain wei!

Shakira: Oh, not tonight, my hips don't lie...

Their horses dress up in armours too!

This one is made of brass...Lucky horse.

Even the elephants get dressed up too!!

Yes, elephants were actually used in war.

Some armours come with extra protection.

While others will just have to watch their balls more carefully.

Oh, and these are the Chinese armours. The metal plates are underneath.

Damn vain right these Chinese peeper? Go for war also must look pretty one. They're made of silk and are embroided just like cheongsams.

I don't understand why they could still die really. They are covered from head to toe with metal plates and the only vulnerable places are the armpits!!

Am I boring u yet?

*pokes*

There's more!! Haha! They're really cool stuff I swear!!

This is an armour inspired by the anteater.

(I do apologise for my lousy photography...)

This looks like a perfectly harmless umbrella,

But it is actually a lethal weaopn

These guns come in the shape of walking sticks as well!

Haha! Okay, okay, I'll stop here so you won't fall asleep.

Now here're some things that will wake u up!

=)

After the Royal Armouries, we walked back to my Shao Yee's apartment to have lunch! We pot lucked and every single dish was absolutely delicious! (If you hadn't stalked me on facebook yet, I'll show you some of the stuff we made)

We had Shao Yee's egg wraps stuffed with cheese and corn,

and baked potato cubes grilled with cheese,

Pei Yee's prawns with pasta sauce - I promise you it's way better than you'd imagine it would be!

And finally, my dish! Rocky Road chocolate bars with strawberries.

=)

Oh and I created the apple juice with 7up drink.

Try it!! It's like sparkling juice!!

=)

Our tummies were most happy!!

I love having girlfriends who love cooking...

=)

Cheers everyone!

The dead has arisen...
I'm alive people!!!

Hello....

*waves*

I have just gotten my old Acer all the way from Kuching.

My HP notebook is still in a coma and I have yet to know when it is coming.

Apparently, it's motherboard is busted - the main control source of the laptop. It's like the "brain" of the computer. If that's busted, we need to get a new brain.

I do not like HP services.

I spent 30 pounds (RM200) just calling them - to ask what is wrong, to troubleshoot, and even to ask them when they will pick it up. They always told me they'd call me back but that has never happened, except just to tell me that it will take a month for them to fix it.

I have shamelessly demanded for a new computer from them or a temporary one as it was their fault for not having a quality check on MY computer. They said they'd get back to me...

*snorts*

Liars.

So I had to ask my parents to ship my old laptop here - another RM300 off.

I shall claim massive compensation and free gifts...

They better pimp up my comp with some diamond bling blings...

Anyhoo....

I have waaaayyyy too many stories to tell...

=)

I shall start by introducing you to my new girlfriend..

Say hi to Chloe:

How we became friends conversation at a random place:

Chloe: So where are you staying?
Me: Clarence Dock.
Chloe: OMG!! Me too!!
Me: OMG!! Which block??
Chloe: B. You??
Me: OMG!! Me too!!
Chloe: OMG!!! Which floor??
Me: 4th!
Chloe: OMG!! 3rd!!!
Me: OMG!!
Chloe: OMG!!
Both: OMG!!

*hug and squeal like sissies*

=)

So we ended up crashing into each other's house to cook, talk, gossip, dress up, make up and dye our hairs. We even d laundry together... Yea, panties and all...

=)

Okie, next up! I'll introduce you to my housemates.

I actually have pics of them from my camera, but ehm...they ain't good pics of em, so I'll steal some from their facebook... =)

This is Asha from Barbados

She takes Law and is in her 2nd year as well so we go for classes together in the mornings. It's too fun!! I'm slightly closer to her than the rest of my housemates cuz she's really fun and easy to talk to and we usually cook and eat in the kitchen together. Oh oh oh!! She was Rihanna's schoolmate!! How cool is that??!!

Next, (from left) Rachel Naar (US), Natalia (British-Spanish), some Chinese girl and Sarah (British):

And this is Rachel Hodgson

She is the subwarden and so we get tips of when the fire alarm will go off for training purposes - which was at "bloody 6 am in the mornin'" (quote from a girl from the other unit who had the shock of her life - tee hee) Oh oh... Her bedroom is so freaking gorgeous!!!!! Omg... Can stay in that room forever and ever until u die..She decorated them with pictures all over, rugs, nice shelves, mirrors...Ahhh....

They are all lovely, lovely people! I am glad to have such easy-going, clean and caring housemates. They really do care and try to help at anytime so i'm really comfortable here with them.

*smiles*

Cookingness of Life!

Hello all!!

Nothing much has been happening really...

I've been attending Fresher's Week Talks for 1st years students.

Then I'd spend my time getting lost in Leeds, getting lost in my own campus 6 times, hopping on the wrong buses which went to an isolated area *kicks myself* only to get back home 3 hours later than I wanted to.

I had such an adventure tho!!!

Tee hee...

My campus looks like this times 15...

This is how I get lost ppl!!

The left building looks like the right building and the right building looks like the building in the front, or hey, was it the back...?

The cars look the same too...

Gah!

But it's not dangerous travelling alone here because noone cares about or looks or stalks little asian girls.

Anyways, just to show u some stuff i managed to cook up for my dinners...

Fist day: Ham sandwich and milk

Noodle, from scratch. Result : Died

I improved tho!

Fried Rice with Chicken and Veges

Bolognese Pasta with Salad

My 3 days in Leeds....
Hey Peeps!!

As I promised...

I would tell you a little about my journey in Leeds.

I arrived at approximately 3.25pm UK time at this pretty dodgy looking train station.

And the first new thing I learned about the UK was that in order to use a trolley (for luggage) you needed to put a 1 pound coin in the slot attached to it. You will get it back if you push it back in it's place.

Just like in The Terminal movie.

=D

A few other students and I were picked up by some kids from Uni and they weren't very friendly I must say. But, on a random note, the girl in charge had lovely eyes. They were this colour:

I want!!

*blinks*

A few other international students and I were brought to our respective accommodation.

Mine was at Clarence Dock Residences

Damn chun right???

I was so excited when we were passing this place.

Ahh... I am most proud of myself for choosing such an excellent place to stay!

It didn't look nearly as lovely as in the pictures!!

Sighs...*commends myself with such awe*

But suddenly, I was moving further and further away from this gorgeous place.

Only to find out my ACTUAL residence was this:

Cheh...

Potong steam betul!!!

Looks like a place Mr. Bean stayed.

There're only 4 floors in each block.

Hence, there are no such creations as elevators.

And apparently, I happen to live on the highest floor.

*faints*

Imagine carrying a luggage weighing 26.1kgs, shouldering a laptop bag together with it's electronic contents weighing 4kgs, and another hand carry on the other shoulder weighing 3kgs.

Like dragging and carrying your kid cousins man.

*dies*

But luckily for me, I had a nice BIG and TALL lady escorting me so she offered to carry it for me.

=D

I survived only until the 1st floor.

Hee hee...

I tried I tell ya, I tried!!

Anyhooo...This is my room!!

It's pretty spacious.

And I have my own bathroom too!! So I can sing with fabulousness...

We're provided with a huge notice board!!

Where I stick these lovelies!

This is the view from my window.

Do u see the white tented area?

There's where I can see horses walking around or racing everyday!!

Pretty cool huh??

And I've already met my 2 housemates: Rachel and Rachel...

Rachel 1 is from England and Rachel 2 is from the US.

And guess what??!!

We are all about the same height!!!

I feel so at home!

=D

They're lovely ladies and Rachel 1 is really so helpful!!

I learned another thing: How to turn on the heater. It has no remote control like the air-cond. You must go to the kitchen, press some buttons, go to ur room and twist some knob thingy and wait. If the heater wants to turn on, it turns on. It doesn't have to even if you ask it to if it feels that the weather is too warm. It's like a human in rectangle form I tell ya!!

....................................

My 2nd and 3rd day was really productive!!

I did my uni registration, health registration, applied for a bank account, got my temporary phone card and went to the city to buy groceries at Morrisons where they sell pretty cheap stuff!

Good cheap stuff too!!

Their cheapest yoghurt was superb!!!!!

They have it in Hazelnut flavour and it was pretty good!!

And there are 1 pound shops!!

1 pound for everything - from beauty products to kitchen utensils to halloween costumes!!

Can go crazy la!!

Hellow!!

*buys buys buys*

=D

Oh oh oh!! And I learnt a few new nouns and slangs:

1) Computer labs =Computer CLUSTERS
2) Dustbin = LITTER bin
3) You doing alright love??

People call each other "love" there!

I feel so loved!!

Do you feel loved??

People here are simply so friendly too! Especially to little old ladies!!

Then this girl I met in the pre-departure talk and in Manchester airport (Su Wei) was so so so kind, she offered to walk me home all the way from the city, and she herself had to walk to the bus station to get a free city bus back to her own place.

I have made 3 friends and we stuck together for the past 3 days.

The next morning, I walked to the market!

And it looks like a pasar malam, but a lot cleaner!!

That's where I saw a Chinese store!!

Whee!!

Chinese food, here I come!!

They sell Sos Cili Pedas labelled as Sos Cili Pedas!

I felt like I was in Malaysia!!

Hellow!

We (Su Wei and I) went to meet another 2 friends I met here Danny, his dad and Yi Ping (sorry I did not camwhore - haha! They didn't look like the type!) and we went to the city centre to explore the area!

Know what, all the buildings in Leeds look the same.

This place

looks like this place

But they are not the same places.

And I can't tell whether this is my uni or a housing area or the shops...

*blurry eyed*

To all the hornys, this is the place for you!

I vowe to enter this place one day with pure confidence in my eyes!!

Anyhoo...

I managed to eat the famous British dish - fish and chips!!

It sucked.

Do not judge food by its pictures

Maybe I went to the wrong one...

*sobs*

Despite the untasteful event, I enjoyed the experience of eating along the roadside because there was no place to eat inside the shops itself.

It is a British norm.

Inconvenient, but very cool!

I quite like it!

I walked home after that as well...And am getting pretty good with the directions if I must say so myself!!

If I do get lost after this, I am not telling!

La la la...

So that's about it for my few days here in Leeds.

I am getting used to it!!

Please forgive me for the lack of good pictures, I was having trouble carrying my bags and groceries along the way.

But I'll be here for quite sometime so I'll post up lovelier pictures soon!

Missing you all back in Malaysia!!

To my love: Thanks for the lovely post-its!! They really make my day everyday!! I put one on my cereal box and my rice cooker and in the bathroom, everywhere!!!

Missing you heaps!! Keep strong for me my dearest!! I will come back in 41 weeks!! We will make it, I'm sure!! I love you!!

To everyone who has sent their good wishes: Thank you so much!! I am really enjoying myself here and am safe and sound!! Until we meet again in 41 weeks, do take care of yourself and I'll try my best to keep in touch with all of you!!

Loves!!

My college/class/flight mate to Dubai. His name is Tiny and he vowes to marry a kuai poh from UK who has some Latina blood for sexiness purposes.
