Hey Peeps!!
As I promised...
I would tell you a little about my journey in Leeds.
I arrived at approximately 3.25pm UK time at this pretty dodgy looking train station.
And the first new thing I learned about the UK was that in order to use a trolley (for luggage) you needed to put a 1 pound coin in the slot attached to it. You will get it back if you push it back in it's place.
Just like in The Terminal movie.
=D
A few other students and I were picked up by some kids from Uni and they weren't very friendly I must say. But, on a random note, the girl in charge had
lovely eyes. They were this colour:

I want!!
*blinks*
A few other international students and I were brought to our respective accommodation.
Mine was at
Clarence Dock Residences

Damn chun right???I was so excited when we were passing this place.
Ahh... I am most proud of myself for choosing such an excellent place to stay!
It didn't look nearly as lovely as in the pictures!!
Sighs...*commends myself with such awe*
But suddenly, I was moving further and further away from this gorgeous place.
Only to find out my ACTUAL residence was this:

Cheh...
Potong steam betul!!!
Looks like a place Mr. Bean stayed.
There're only 4 floors in each block.
Hence, there are no such creations as elevators. And apparently, I happen to live on the
highest floor.*faints*
Imagine carrying a luggage weighing
26.1kgs, shouldering a laptop bag together with it's electronic contents weighing
4kgs, and another hand carry on the other shoulder weighing
3kgs.
Like dragging and carrying your kid cousins man.
*dies*But luckily for me, I had a nice BIG and TALL lady escorting me so she offered to carry it for me.
=D
I survived only until the 1st floor.
Hee hee...
I tried I tell ya, I tried!!
Anyhooo...This is my room!!

It's pretty spacious.

And I have my own bathroom too!! So I can sing with fabulousness...
We're provided with a huge notice board!!

Where I stick these lovelies!

This is the view from my window.

Do u see the white tented area?
There's where I can see horses walking around or racing everyday!!
Pretty cool huh??
And I've already met my 2 housemates:
Rachel and
Rachel...
Rachel 1 is from England and Rachel 2 is from the US.
And guess what??!!
We are all about the same height!!!I feel so at home!
=D
They're lovely ladies and Rachel 1 is really so helpful!!
I learned another thing: How to turn on the heater. It has no remote control like the air-cond. You must go to the kitchen, press some buttons, go to ur room and twist some knob thingy and wait. If the heater wants to turn on, it turns on. It doesn't have to even if you ask it to if it feels that the weather is too warm. It's like a human in rectangle form I tell ya!!
....................................
My 2nd and 3rd day was really productive!!
I did my
uni registration,
health registration, applied for a
bank account, got my
temporary phone card and went to the city to buy groceries at Morrisons where they sell pretty cheap stuff!
Good cheap stuff too!!
Their cheapest yoghurt was superb!!!!!
They have it in
Hazelnut flavour and it was pretty good!!
And there are
1 pound shops!!
1 pound for everything - from beauty products to kitchen utensils to halloween costumes!!
Can go crazy la!!
Hellow!!
*buys buys buys*
=D
Oh oh oh!! And I learnt a few new nouns and slangs:
1) Computer labs =Computer CLUSTERS
2) Dustbin = LITTER bin
3) You doing alright love??
People call each other "love" there!
I feel so loved!!
Do you feel loved??
People here are simply so friendly too! Especially to little old ladies!!
Then this girl I met in the pre-departure talk and in Manchester airport (Su Wei) was
so so so kind, she offered to walk me home all the way from the city, and she herself had to walk to the bus station to get a free city bus back to her own place.
I have made
3 friends and we stuck together for the past 3 days.
The next morning, I walked to the
market!
And it looks like a pasar malam, but a lot cleaner!!
That's where I saw a Chinese store!!
Whee!!
Chinese food, here I come!!
They sell Sos Cili Pedas labelled as Sos Cili Pedas!
I felt like I was in Malaysia!!
Hellow!
We (Su Wei and I) went to meet another 2 friends I met here Danny, his dad and Yi Ping (sorry I did not camwhore - haha! They didn't look like the type!) and we went to the city centre to explore the area!
Know what, all the buildings in Leeds look the same.
This place

looks like this place

But they are not the same places.
And I can't tell whether this is my uni or a housing area or the shops...

*blurry eyed*
To all the hornys, this is the place for you!
I vowe to enter this place one day with pure confidence in my eyes!!Anyhoo...
I managed to eat the famous British dish - fish and chips!!

It sucked.
Do not judge food by its pictures
Maybe I went to the wrong one...
*sobs*
Despite the untasteful event, I enjoyed the experience of
eating along the roadside because there was no place to eat inside the shops itself.
It is a British norm.
Inconvenient, but very cool!
I quite like it!I walked home after that as well...And am getting pretty good with the directions if I must say so myself!!
If I do get lost after this, I am not telling!
La la la...
So that's about it for my few days here in Leeds.
I am getting used to it!!
Please forgive me for the lack of good pictures, I was having trouble carrying my bags and groceries along the way.
But I'll be here for quite sometime so I'll post up lovelier pictures soon!
Missing you all back in Malaysia!!
To my love: Thanks for the lovely post-its!! They really make my day everyday!! I put one on my cereal box and my rice cooker and in the bathroom, everywhere!!!

Missing you heaps!! Keep strong for me my dearest!! I will come back in 41 weeks!! We will make it, I'm sure!! I love you!!
To everyone who has sent their good wishes: Thank you so much!! I am really enjoying myself here and am safe and sound!! Until we meet again in 41 weeks, do take care of yourself and I'll try my best to keep in touch with all of you!!
Loves!!
